The maximum annual limit that can be subscribed to through DotSure Pet Insurance is R116,600.00. This pet insurance policy covers the costs of third-party liability, illnesses, hereditary treatment, and surgeries. Additionally, there are 5 different plans that individuals can choose from, with cover starting from R14,000.00 for accident cover.

Subscribing to DotSure Pet Insurance is easy and convenient, and policyholders can get up to 15% off their pet insurance cover when they insure more than one pet on their policy.

DotSure Pet Insurance Plans

DotSure offers 5 different plans for its pet insurance policy. These plans are as follows:

Accidental Plan: This plan covers pets for injuries and illnesses caused by an accident. Accidents covered include but are not limited to car accidents and poisoning. The plan has an annual limit of R14,000.00 for every 12 month period. The third-party liability cover is also included in the plan, covering policyholders against any liability for injury or damage that their pet might inflict on someone else. The third-party liability cover has an annual limit of R138,800.00.
Veterinary expenses incurred for the diagnosis or treatment of a pet that has been accidentally injured are covered for R5,500.00. Medications for the treatment of injuries that were subject to an accident are covered for an annual limit of R2,780.00. Medication must be prescribed by a recognizable veterinarian, and a claim limit of R415.00 for medication is applicable.

Surgery costs are covered by the plan, and it covers the treatment of a medical condition through removal, repair, or readjustment of organs and tissue. Under the accidental plan, surgeries are covered for R1,390.00 per claim. The costs of X-rays and scans required for the diagnosis and treatment of an injury are covered by the plan for an annual limit of R2,780.00. Radiology claims have a maximum limit of R835.00 per claim.

Costs related to the diagnostic tests needed to determine the proper treatment for a pet are covered by the plan and come with an annual limit of R2,780.00. These costs have a maximum claim limit of R835.00. Hospitalization of a pet is covered for an annual limit of R2,780.00. The hospitalization must be due to an accident, and the maximum claim amount per claim is R835.00. The accidental plan doesn’t have a waiting period, and it is activated immediately after taking out the policy. An excess fee of 10% on all claims is applicable, with a minimum fee of R200.00 per claim.

Basic Plan: The basic plan covers policyholders for accidents, illnesses, and hereditary conditions. The annual limit for this plan is R30,000.00. The third-party liability cover has an annual limit of R138,800.00. There is a waiting period of 30 days for illness claims, while accidents and hereditary conditions are covered immediately after taking out the policy. An excess fee of 10% on all claims is applicable, with a minimum fee of R200.00 per claim.

Standard Plan: The standard plan covers policyholders for accidents, illnesses, hereditary conditions, and routine care. The annual limit for this plan is R50,000.00.

DotSure Basic Pet Insurance Plan

The DotSure basic pet insurance plan offers coverage for accidents and illnesses for pets. The premiums for the basic plan start from R199.00 per month, and the cost depends on the pet and the underwriting results.

The basic plan provides an annual limit of R25,000.00 for a 12-month period. All claims require an excess payment of 10%, and each claim requires a minimum payment of R200.00 as an excess fee. For pets under 6 months old, illness claims have an additional excess of R300.00.

On the basic plan, there is no waiting period for accidental injuries. However, there is a 30-day waiting period before submitting the first claim.

The basic plan covers third-party liability up to an annual limit of R208,200.00. Accidental cover is also included, providing coverage for veterinary services expenses incurred for the diagnosis and treatment of a pet’s accidental injury up to the value of R8,400.00 per claim.

Illnesses are also covered by the plan, providing coverage for vet bills arising from the treatment and diagnosis of an illness. However, illness cover only covers 50% of the claim amount and provides coverage up to R4,200.00 per claim.

The plan covers medication needed for the healing process from injuries up to the amount of R2,780.00 per annum. The cost of the medication prescribed by the vet for the treatment of an accident or illness is limited to R555.00 per claim, subject to a 10% excess payment.

The treatment of a medical condition through the removal, and readjustment of organs and/or tissue is covered for R2,100.00 per claim. Radiology costs, such as x-rays and scans, are covered for R2,780.00 per annum, with a maximum claim of R835.00 per claim. Pathology costs are covered up to an annual limit of R2,780.00, and each claim is limited to R835.00. The plan covers hospitalization of a pet due to an illness or accident for R2,780.00, with a claim maximum of R970.00.

DotSure Standard Pet Insurance Plan

The DotSure Standard pet insurance plan provides coverage for accidents and illnesses for pets. The plan has an annual limit of R35,000.00, and premiums start from R349.00 per month.

The policyholder must contribute 10% towards all claims made under the policy. The minimum excess payment of R200.00 applies to all claims made on the plan. For pets younger than 6 months, an additional excess of R300.00 applies when making a claim.

The plan covers third-party liability up to R208,200.00 per annum, which covers any liability for injury or damage that a pet insured might inflict on someone else or their property.

Illness cover is also included in the Standard plan and covers the treatment and diagnosis of an illness. The cover provides up to R11,800.00 per claim to cover the vet bill towards treatment and diagnosis.

Accidental cover is also included in the plan, which covers the veterinary services expenses incurred for the diagnosis and treatment of a pet’s accidental injury. Each claim is limited to R11,800.00.

Medication needed for the treatment of a pet is covered up to an annual limit of R2,780.00, and the cost of the prescribed medication by the veterinarian is up to R695.00 per claim. Surgical treatment is also covered by the plan, and each claim for surgical treatment is limited to R4,200.00.

Pathology and radiology expenses resulting from diagnosis and/or treatment are covered by the Standard plan, with an annual.

DotSure Superior Pet Insurance Plan

DotSure Pet Insurance offers two comprehensive plans for pet owners, namely the Superior and Ultimate plans. The Superior plan covers accidents, illnesses, and wellness benefits, with premiums starting from R479.00 per month and an annual policy limit of R69,500.00. Claims on this plan come with a 10% excess payment, and each claim incurs an excess fee of at least R200.00, except for wellness benefits. An additional excess of R300.00 applies to illness claims for pets younger than six months.

The Superior plan does not have a waiting period for accidental claims but has a 30-day waiting period before submitting a claim. Wellness claims have a 60-day waiting period, and hereditary claims have a 12-month waiting period. Third-party liability insurance is included in the plan at no additional cost, with an annual limit of R347,300.00.

Wellness benefits are also included in the Superior plan at no extra cost, covering vaccination, deworming, flea control, nail trim, elective sterilisation, and dental checkup. The maximum annual limit for wellness benefits is R2,100.00, with a per-claim limit of R555.00. Hereditary treatments are covered after 12 months, and the annual limit is R2,780.00, with a per-claim limit of R1,110.00.

The Superior plan covers the cost of medication for any approved medication prescribed by a vet, with an annual limit of R2,780.00 and a per-claim limit of R1,050.00. The plan covers medical treatments for a maximum claim amount of R6,900.00, including the removal, repair, or adjustment of organs and/or tissue. Hospitalisation of a pet is also covered, with an annual limit of R2,780.00 and a per-claim limit of R1,390.00.

Pathology and radiology diagnosis and treatment costs are covered for an annual limit of R2,780.00 each, with a per-claim limit of R1,050.00 each. The Ultimate plan offers the most comprehensive coverage out of all the DotSure Pet insurance plans, with an annual cover of R116,000.00, and premiums starting from R1,199.00 per month.

DotSure Ultimate Pet Insurance Plan

Claims on the Ultimate plan come with a standard 10% excess payment on all claims, with a minimum of R200.00 excess payment, except for wellness benefits. The Ultimate plan covers accidents, illnesses, hereditary conditions, and third-party liability, with no waiting period for accidental claims. However, a waiting period for claims for illness or wellness benefits applies, and hereditary conditions come with a 12-month waiting period.

Third-party liability insurance is included in the Ultimate plan, with an annual limit of R347,300.00. The Ultimate plan also includes illness cover, with a per-claim amount of R40,800.00, the highest among all plans offered by DotSure. Accidents and illnesses are covered up to R40,800.00 per claim, and hereditary treatment has an annual limit of R2,920.00, with each claim having a per-claim maximum cover of R2,920.00.

Costs for vaccination, flea control, nail trim, and dental checkup are covered up to an annual limit of R2,340.00 and a per-claim limit of R2,340.00. The Ultimate plan covers a limited number of surgeries, with a maximum cover of R40,800.00 per surgery, including cruciate ligament surgery, luxating patella surgery, and hip, shoulder, and/or elbow surgery.

The Ultimate Plan from DotSure Pet Insurance covers a limited number of surgeries and one claim per year. Surgeries that are covered include cruciate ligament surgery, luxating patella surgery, and hip, shoulder, and/or elbow surgery, with a limit of R40,800.00 per surgery.

Advantages of DotSure Pet Insurance
