Sharon Wapnick
About
Sharon Wapnick is a lawyer and property investor who chairs the JSE-listed real-estate group Octodec Investments and is closely associated with the family-founded City Property Administration and APT/Premium Properties lineage. The Wapnick family built its fortune assembling and managing large portfolios of commercial, retail and residential buildings, particularly in the central business districts of Johannesburg and Pretoria, where the group is one of the most significant landlords. A practising attorney as well as a businesswoman, Wapnick took a leading role in the family's property interests and their listed vehicles, overseeing portfolios spanning offices, shops and inner-city residential accommodation. Her wealth is held through these listed and associated property interests. She is one of relatively few women at the head of a major South African property group, and her fortune tracks the value of the underlying real-estate portfolios and their listed holding companies.
