About Old Mutual
Old Mutual is a large South African financial-services group with a heritage stretching back over 175 years, offering life insurance, savings and investments, asset management, banking and short-term insurance. It serves mass-market, retail-affluent and corporate customers across South Africa and parts of Africa, and has launched OM Bank to build a full transactional-banking offering. Listed on the JSE, Old Mutual earns from insurance premiums, investment and asset-management fees and, increasingly, banking, so its results track mortality experience, investment markets, net client flows and the build-out of its new bank. It is one of the country's foundational insurers and savings institutions.
