About African Rainbow Minerals

African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) is a diversified South African mining company founded by Patrice Motsepe, and a pioneer of black-owned mining in the post-apartheid era. It produces platinum-group metals, iron ore, manganese, chrome, coal and copper, largely through joint ventures and associates such as its stakes in Assmang and various platinum operations. Listed on the JSE, ARM's earnings are geared to the prices of the ferrous and platinum-group metals it mines and to the rand. The group is known for its partnership model with other mining houses and its role in transforming ownership in South Africa's mining sector.
