Before investing in cryptocurrency, one must first determine which coin to invest in, as this can yield significant returns. Entering the crypto space can be very overwhelming at times, as the coins fluctuate in value.

With the advancement of technology and various applications, it may appear to be more difficult. The market offers a plethora of options, making a person indecisive, and making the wrong decision can be highly risky.

Here is a list of the top seven cryptocurrencies to think about before investing in December.

Uniswap (UNI)

Uniswap is in the process of making continuous improvements. It will be launching Optimism, which is currently in the Alpha stage, which means it is still being tested and will take some time before it is available to everyone. Optimism will bring many benefits, including quick and cheap transactions, scaling, and the ability to pay gas fees in any token. As a result, now might be a good time to invest in the coin. When Optimism merges with Uniswap, investors can expect better yields in the near future.

However, there have been controversies surrounding Uniswap's governance and voting process.

Ethereum 2 (ETH)

Ethereum, which was launched in 2015, is a decentralized platform, which means it is not governed by a single person or entity. It is also, after Bitcoin, one of the most popular cryptocurrencies. Since its inception, Ethereum has consistently outperformed, making it an ideal investment platform.

Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin, which debuted in 2009, was the first token to operate on a decentralized platform. It has performed exceptionally well to date and has a market capitalization of approximately R5.5 trillion. Bitcoin is one of the most well-known cryptocurrencies. It is always a good platform for investment.

Compound (COMP)

Compound is a thriving crypto lending platform in the de-fi market. It has recently shown commendable growth, and its idea of attracting institutional investors has the potential to propel it forward. Cim was recently launched. People who invest in US dollars can earn a 4% fixed interest rate per year from the Treasury. This policy will pique the interest of many institutions, that will implement it in the crypto-lending market.

Despite differences in offer policy, AAVE is a tough competitor for COMP.

Polygon (MATIC)

Polygon is an Ethereum-based layer 2 blockchain technology. Transactions will be faster as a result of its recent acquisition of crypto company Hermez. The combination of two blockchains is expected to produce high-quality results. It has done particularly well over the last two years and has made its mark in the Cryptoverse.

Keep in mind that any impact on Ethereum will have a direct impact on Polygon.

Ripple (XRP): If Ripple prevails in its lawsuit against the SEC, the price of ripple will skyrocket. Ripple is a global money transfer platform that primarily works with large financial institutions to facilitate more efficient collaboration without the use of banks. For a long time, it was the third-largest cryptocurrency.

Ripple is currently trading at a high value, making it an appealing investment.

Cardano (ADA)

Cardano is the first blockchain platform based on peer-reviewed research and developed using evidence-based methods. It combines cutting-edge technologies to provide unrivaled security and sustainability to decentralized applications, systems, and businesses.

Traders have been purchasing ADA tokens in anticipation of Cardano's rise. As a result, 2022 could be a banner year for the token.
