Expectations for the June hard fork combinator event remain high, with the community believing that the Vasil update may boost the influx of dApps via the CIP-33 (Reference Scripts) set to be introduced with the Vasil Hard Fork.
The goal of reference scripts (CIP-33) is to lower overall transaction costs. Currently, each transaction necessitates the introduction of new scripts. Reference scripts can be used to interact with scripts, causing them to be added to the chain. As a result, the interaction between smart contracts is reduced to the greatest extent possible.

In addition, the Cardano team continues to work on consensus-specific enhancements in preparation for the Vasil Hard Fork Combinator (HFC) event.
The public testnet for the next Vasil Hard Fork could be available in early June, with the mainnet scheduled to launch on June 29
