How to file SASSA Online Application for R350 Grant

R350 Grant

The SASSA (South African Social Security Agency) R350 grant has been made available to those who are unable to support themselves within reasonable limits. SASSA’s primary focus has been on pensioners, the disabled, and those in need of child support.

Since the start of Covid-19, the South African government has announced the SRD (Social Relief of Distress) grant, which was made available in May 2020 to assist those who are financially distressed as a result of Covid-19. The SRD, like child support, disability, and old age grants, is administered in accordance with the Social Assistance Act.

The SRD grant has enabled many people to survive, and its legacy can be seen in the number of registered South Africans. As of 2022, 12 million South Africans and work permit holders had applied for the Covid-19 SRD grant, and the number is expected to grow before the grant expires in March 2023.

As time is running out, applying before the deadline must be prioritized. The grant is open to South African citizens, refugees, asylum holders, and special permit holders between the ages of 18 and 60. The grant, however, is not intended for everyone.
