When the trial resumes in the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo, today, one of the individuals implicated in the killing of the Mayor of the Collins Chabane Municipality will continue to present their testimony. Shumani Nemadodzi, along with four co-accused, stands trial for their alleged involvement in the murder of Moses Maluleke. Maluleke tragically lost his life when he was fatally shot at his residence in Xikundu village outside Malamulele two years ago.

Nemadodzi commenced his testimony yesterday, guided by his legal representative, Ruth Scott. Throughout his testimony, Nemadodzi adamantly refuted the allegations made against him by the state’s witness, Avhatakali Mulaudzi, who purportedly linked him to the murder. Nemadodzi asserted to the court that Mulaudzi’s testimony implicating him was fabricated and motivated by financial incentives.

Mulaudzi, formerly an accused individual who has now turned state witness, provided detailed testimony regarding Nemadodzi’s purported role in the killing of Moses Maluleke.

The trial has drawn significant attention due to its high-profile nature, as the community seeks justice for the untimely demise of their Mayor. With each day of proceedings, the courtroom is filled with anticipation as the truth surrounding Maluleke’s murder slowly unfolds.

The trial’s continuation marks another chapter in the quest for justice, with each party striving to present their case convincingly before the court. As legal representatives meticulously cross-examine witnesses and present evidence, the intricacies of the case become increasingly apparent.

Nemadodzi’s testimony holds particular importance, as it provides him with an opportunity to refute the allegations levied against him and present his version of events.
