Bonang Jankie Madisakwane and Paul Tlelimo are set to appear again in the Zeerust Magistrates’ Court in North West next week, facing charges of alleged theft and possession of copper cables.

The duo made their initial court appearances on Monday and Wednesday respectively, subsequent to their arrest over the weekend.

As per police reports, members of the Zeerust visible policing unit were on patrol along the R49 road near Lekubu village when they came across a vehicle bearing Gauteng Province registration plates.

Upon conducting a search of the vehicle and its three occupants, law enforcement officers discovered copper cable valued at R600,000 in their possession.

According to police statements, Madisakwane has been additionally implicated in a theft case supposedly committed in Jacobsdal, within the Ottoshoop policing precinct. Meanwhile, Tlelimo, identified as a foreign national from Lesotho, faces charges under the Immigration Act of 2002 for failing to provide evidence of his legal status within the country.

Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani, spokesperson for the police, elaborated on the incident:

“During the search, the police found two plastic bags filled with copper cables and a roll of copper cables, with a combined worth of R650,000. The suspects were apprehended after failing to provide a satisfactory account for their possession. However, the third individual, allegedly a foreign national from Lesotho, managed to evade arrest by fleeing from the scene. Subsequent preliminary investigations conducted after the arrests positively linked the copper cables to a theft case registered at Nietverdiend.”

In a more elaborate description, Bonang Jankie Madisakwane and Paul Tlelimo are slated to reappear in the Zeerust Magistrates’ Court in the North West province during the forthcoming week, facing charges of alleged theft and the possession of copper cables.

These two individuals were first brought before the court on separate occasions – Madisakwane on Monday and Tlelimo on Wednesday – subsequent to their apprehension over the preceding weekend.

According to accounts provided by law enforcement, members of the Zeerust visible policing unit were engaged in routine patrols along the R49 road in proximity to Lekubu village when they encountered a vehicle displaying registration plates from the Gauteng Province.

The subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the discovery of copper cable with an estimated value of R600,000 in their possession.

Further scrutiny revealed that Madisakwane was implicated in an additional case of theft purportedly perpetrated in Jacobsdal, a locality within the Ottoshoop policing jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Tlelimo, identified as a foreign national hailing from Lesotho, is facing charges under the Immigration Act of 2002 for his failure to provide adequate documentation proving his legal status within the country.

Providing insights into the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani, acting as the police spokesperson, provided a detailed account:

“Upon conducting the search, law enforcement discovered two plastic bags containing copper cables, alongside a roll of copper cables, collectively valued at R650,000. Subsequent to their failure to provide a satisfactory account for the possession of these items, the suspects were placed under arrest. However, it is worth noting that a third individual, believed to be a foreign national from Lesotho, managed to evade capture by fleeing the scene. Preliminary investigations conducted subsequent to the arrests confirmed a positive link between the copper cables and a theft case previously registered at Nietverdiend.”

In essence, Bonang Jankie Madisakwane and Paul Tlelimo are set to make their subsequent appearances in the Zeerust Magistrates’ Court, facing accusations of theft and the unlawful possession of copper cables.

These individuals were first brought before the court on different days – Madisakwane on Monday, followed by Tlelimo on Wednesday – subsequent to their arrest over the weekend.

According to accounts provided by law enforcement officials, members of the Zeerust visible policing unit were engaged in routine patrols along the R49 road near Lekubu village when they encountered a vehicle displaying Gauteng Province registration plates.

Following a thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants, police discovered copper cable with an estimated value of R600,000 in their possession.

Further investigations revealed that Madisakwane was implicated in an additional case of theft allegedly committed in Jacobsdal, within the Ottoshoop policing jurisdiction. On the other hand, Tlelimo, identified as a foreign national from Lesotho, is facing charges under the Immigration Act of 2002 for his inability to provide valid documentation proving his legal status within the country.

Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani, acting as the police spokesperson, shed light on the incident:

“Upon conducting the search, law enforcement officers uncovered two plastic bags containing copper cables, along with a roll of copper cables, with a collective value of R650,000. Following their failure to provide a satisfactory explanation for the possession of these items, the suspects were promptly placed under arrest. It is pertinent to note, however, that a third individual, believed to be a foreign national from Lesotho, managed to evade capture by fleeing the scene. Preliminary investigations conducted subsequent to the arrests have established a clear link between the copper cables and a previously registered theft case in Nietverdiend.”

In summary, Bonang Jankie Madisakwane and Paul Tlelimo are scheduled for their next court appearances in the Zeerust Magistrates’ Court, facing allegations of theft and the unlawful possession of copper cables.
