Send Me Home Cover

The Mukuru Send Me Home Cover is a funeral plan that charges a monthly premium of R30.00. It provides a cover amount of R15,000.00 for the primary member. The plan offers accidental death coverage of up to R15,000.00.

There is no waiting period for accidental death under this plan. However, there is a six-month waiting period for natural death at the start of the plan.

The plan only covers the primary member, and immediate and extended family members cannot be added. Additional benefits offered through the plan include legal assistance, debt and credit assistance, and trauma counseling. The plan also covers the cost of repatriation anywhere in Southern Africa.

Send Me Home Gold

The Mukuru Send Me Home Gold cover is a funeral plan that costs R55.00 per month. It provides coverage for the main member for a cover amount of R30,000.00, which is paid out to the policy’s beneficiaries.

Immediate family members, including spouse(s) and children, cannot be covered under this plan. Separate funeral plans will be required for immediate family members.

The plan covers accidental death up to the value of R15,000.00, with no waiting period. Accidental death is covered immediately after the plan is activated.

The plan also offers repatriation services to the main member. Repatriation is available in every country in South Africa, and Mukuru will transport mortal remains to South Africa in the event of the main member’s death.

Extended family members aged 21 years or older can be added to the plan. An additional premium of R3.50 to R120.00 per month is required for each extended family member, and the cover amounts available range from R5,000.00 to R15,000.00.

Send Us Home Parent Cover

The Mukuru Send Us Home Parent Cover is a funeral plan that covers the primary member and his or her children, with monthly premiums starting at R80.00. The plan provides R25,000.00 in coverage for the primary member, which is paid to beneficiaries in the event of death.

The plan also includes coverage for up to four children based on their age. Children aged 14 to 21 years old can be covered for a funeral benefit of R7,500.00, while children between the ages of 6 and 13 years are covered for a funeral benefit of R5,000.00.

A child between the ages of 0 and 5 is insured for R2,500.00 per claim. However, a spouse cannot be added to the funeral plan as it is only designed for the main member and his or her children.

Extended family members can be covered for R1,500.00 per year, with premiums starting at R3.50. The maximum coverage for extended family members is R15,000.00, with a monthly premium of R120.00. Up to 4 extended family members can be added to the plan, and they can be covered up to the age of 85.

The plan also offers free repatriation for the main member and those covered under the plan. Transportation of mortal remains is available across Southern Africa to South Africa for burial.

Accidental death is covered immediately on the plan and has no waiting period. However, death due to natural causes has a waiting period of 6 months from the activation of the plan.

Send Us Home Family Cover

The Mukuru Send Us Home Family Cover is a funeral plan that covers the main member and his or her family for a monthly fee of R120.00. The funeral plan covers the primary member, spouse, and up to four children.

The primary member is insured for R30,000.00, while the spouse is insured for R22,500.00. Children are covered based on their age, with a child aged 14 to 21 eligible for R7,500.00 in funeral benefits. A child aged 6 to 13 years is covered for a funeral benefit of R5,000.00, and a child aged 0 to 5 years is covered for R2,500.00 per claim.

Accidental death has no waiting period on the Send Us Home Family plan, and the cover amount for accidental death is R15,000.00.

The highest cover for extended family members is R15,000.00, which requires a monthly premium of R120.00. Extended family members can be added up to the age of 85.
