The transfer is set to take effect from August 2, 2023.

The decision to transfer Mr. Mafokane, as outlined in Section 12 of the Public Service Act, is not indicative of any wrongdoing on his part, but rather a strategic measure to enhance the effectiveness and continuity of service delivery within the department. His terms and conditions of employment will remain unchanged during this period.

The leadership transition comes as the North West provincial government seeks to address existing challenges and ensure seamless operations within the Department of Social Development. Acting Premier Maloyi and MEC Mokgosi have jointly expressed their gratitude to HoD Mafokane for his understanding and cooperation throughout this process.

During this transitional period, Dr. Fezile Ngqobe has been appointed to serve as the Acting Head of the Department of Social Development. Dr. Ngqobe brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having previously served in various capacities within the public service sector.

The appointment of Dr. Ngqobe as Acting HoD aims to maintain the continuity of the department’s operations during the interim period. It is expected that his leadership will further consolidate efforts to support vulnerable communities, ensure the effective implementation of social development programs, and address any outstanding challenges.

As the Department of Social Development plays a crucial role in the province’s welfare and development, this temporary leadership transition signifies the government’s commitment to providing quality services and support to its citizens.

This news article emphasizes the government’s proactive approach to addressing internal matters to ensure the overall effectiveness of public service delivery.

The leadership transition is expected to be closely monitored by stakeholders in the financial services sector, who rely on a stable government infrastructure to provide essential services. The North West province’s citizens and businesses alike will be eager to witness the positive impact of this decision on the region’s social welfare landscape.
