YeboYethu (RF) Limited, a leading South African company, has recently released its annual results and audited consolidated annual financial statements for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023. The company, known for its investment in Vodacom Group Limited, also declared a dividend for its shareholders in accordance with the funding terms of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transaction.

The financial highlights of the annual results include a basic loss per share of 5884 cents, in contrast to the earnings per share of 6,728 cents reported for the previous fiscal year, ending March 31, 2022.

In parallel, Vodacom Group Limited, in which YeboYethu has its exclusive investment, has released its integrated report and consolidated audited annual financial statements for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023. As part of its commitment to shareholders, YeboYethu has declared a final dividend of 91 cents per share for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023. This dividend aligns with the funding terms of the BEE transaction, which aims to empower a broader base of black individuals and groups in the South African economy.

The gross dividend, designated as dividend number 21, is set to be payable to shareholders on Monday, July 10, 2023. To qualify for the dividend, shareholders must be recorded in the company’s register at the close of business on Friday, July 7, 2023. The total number of ordinary shares in circulation at the time of the dividend declaration is 52,915,960.

Shareholders should take note of important dates related to the dividend distribution process. The last day to trade shares cum dividend is Tuesday, July 4, 2023, after which shares will commence trading ex-dividend on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. The record date is set for Friday, July 7, 2023. The dividend will be electronically transferred into the bank accounts of all certificated shareholders on Monday, July 10, 2023, where applicable. Shareholders who hold dematerialized shares will have their accounts at their Central Securities Depository Participant (CSDP) or broker credited on the same day.
