Copper 360 Limited, formerly known as Big Tree Copper Limited, has announced significant developments in their exploration activities. The company’s drilling results at the Rietberg Copper Mine have confirmed high-grade copper intersections, validating the historical drillhole database. Additionally, they have made a remarkable discovery of a new high-grade copper deposit on the surface through initial sampling at Wheal Julia.
The recent drilling campaign conducted by Copper 360 involved four core boreholes that were twinned parallel to historical drilling, ensuring the accuracy of copper values and widths while validating the existing database. The results were highly promising. Borehole RB360-3 intersected an impressive 22.27 meters with an in-situ copper grade of 2.97%, while borehole RB360-4 intersected 6.66 meters with an in-situ copper grade of 3.57%, both at the Rietberg Copper Mine.
Furthermore, the company’s surface channel sampling at Wheal Julia has led to a significant breakthrough. They have discovered a copper oxide capping on the surface, covering an extensive area measuring 150 meters wide and 100 meters long, with the potential for further expansion at greater depths. The average value of samples collected from Wheal Julia yielded an in-situ average copper grade of 5%, with individual values reaching as high as 8% to 10%.
It is worth noting that Copper 360 holds the Mining Right over the Rietberg Mine and possesses the historical geological drillhole database. By confirming the validity of the historical intersected copper widths and grades through the recent drilling campaign, the company plans to upgrade the inferred resource of this mineralized body to the indicated and measured resource category in the coming months.
Jan Nelson, CEO of Copper 360, expressed his confidence in the drilling results, stating, “The drilling results at the Rietberg Mine have confirmed the historical drillhole database and have validated our modelling of the mineralized copper zones at the mine. The size of the copper mineralization is unlike anything else in the world, representing significant blocks of copper mineralization that we are planning to mine with pre-developed infrastructure in place.”
In addition to the drilling results, Copper 360 conducted a sampling campaign at Wheal Julia, which has revealed a major copper discovery on the surface. Although the results of this sampling campaign have not yet been verified by a second independent laboratory, the company has identified several other similar targets through geophysical analysis, which are currently under investigation.
The company has outlined its future plans, including drilling the Wheal Julia surface copper showing and exploring other targets in the coming months. These efforts aim to test the targets to depth and prepare for open-pit mine design, potentially leading to the development of multiple surface open-pit deposits.
