Impressive Results from Lithium Ridge Exploration
Andrada Mining Limited has demonstrated its prowess in lithium extraction through the production of high-grade spodumene concentrate at a remarkable grade of 6.8% Li2O (75% spodumene). The breakthrough was achieved by subjecting mineralized pegmatite material from the Lithium Ridge license area (ML133) to laboratory-scale flotation. Two exploration samples, each sourced from distinct pegmatite bodies, underwent flotation test work, resulting in a notable Li2O recovery of 76%, with an impressive 80% spodumene recovery.

Anthony Viljoen, the Chief Executive Officer of Andrada Mining, expressed his satisfaction with the results, stating, “These results confirm recoverable spodumene within the pegmatites of the Lithium Ridge license area. The test work produced battery-grade spodumene concentrate at very attractive lithium recoveries.” Viljoen highlighted the success of the initial exploration drilling, where notable intersections of up to 2.13% Li₂O were reported, showcasing lithium mineralization along a 6km strike.

The company plans further exploration drilling, metallurgical test work, and mineralogical characterization to delve deeper into the spodumene mineralization in the Lithium Ridge license area. Variability in Mineralization Across Lithium Ridge
The Lithium Ridge license area exhibits variability in lithium mineralization, ranging from spodumene-dominant to petalite-dominant. The mineral abundance map indicates a high proportion of spodumene in the area where the composite samples were sourced. However, southwest of the license area, there is a notable presence of petalite, the source of ore for Andrada’s current production of ceramic-grade petalite concentrate.
