In compliance with the JSE Limited (JSE) Listings Requirements and JSE Debt Listings Requirements, Momentum Metropolitan Holdings has announced this change, assuring stakeholders of a smooth leadership transition.

Ms Jeanette Marais is a highly accomplished executive leader with an impressive track record and extensive experience in the financial services industry. Having started her career at Momentum in 1990, she gained valuable insights through management and executive positions at other financial institutions in South Africa until early 2018. Ms Marais rejoined Momentum Metropolitan Holdings on 1 March 2018 as the Deputy Group CEO. Her vast knowledge and understanding of the MMH Group business, strategy, and culture make her well-equipped to take on the role of Group CEO.

The Boards of Momentum Metropolitan Holdings expressed their confidence in Jeanette Marais, highlighting her integral role as a key member of the executive team during the company’s critical years of evolution. Her appointment reflects the Boards’ belief that she will lead the Group with distinction.

Expressing their appreciation, the Boards also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Mr Hilgard Pieter Meyer, who has diligently served as the Group CEO for nearly five years. Following a brief handover period, Mr Meyer will officially retire on 30 September 2023, marking the conclusion of the agreement between him and the Group. This agreement stipulated that he would fulfill the role of Group CEO for a period of approximately five years.
