Binance discontinues a number of services for South African customers

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has taken another step in improving its product offerings in various areas around the world, this time in South Africa.

Binance announced Friday that clients in South Africa will no longer be allowed to register new accounts for futures, options, margins, or leveraged tokens.

Users have 90 days to close existing positions, after which any remaining open positions will be closed automatically on January 6, 2022.

The move follows Binance’s removal of such services from many markets around the world earlier this year in response to increasing regulatory pressures.

Last month, the exchange discontinued its futures offering to Australian cryptocurrency dealers.
